Brioche French Toast

The Brioche French Toast recipe is an upgrade of the traditional French toast, but at least it’s what you get the most in Parisian cafés!

French toasts were invented to save the bread that you would throw away because it’s too dry to eat ! In France, we call it “Brioche Perdue” – literally translated as “Lost Brioche”. Let’s try a joke that works perfectly in French : Hopefully, I found it, it’s not lost anymore! (Got it?)

Discover below the Brioche French Toast recipe and try it for breakfast, afternoon snack or dessert!

  • 6 slices of Brioche
  • 2 eggs
  • Sugar (40 gr)
  • Milk (3,5 fl oz)
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla extract (or vanilla beans)
  • Butter
  • Toppings : fresh fruits, nuts, maple sirup, honey ice-cream... (anything you like)

  • 1. Mix together in a bowl : eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract (or vanilla beans)
  • 2. Dive the slices of Brioche in the mixture, until they are well hydrated (watch out, not too much! Because you may have brioche soup instead of French toasted brioche)
  • 3. Over a heat source, melt some butter in a pan and add the slices of brioche!
  • 4. Bake 3 minutes on each side until it's caramelized as you like it
  • 5. Add toppings, take a picture for Instagram, tag @hasta_paris and eat! Bon appétit!

Et voilà!
