Eiffel Tower
Climb the Eiffel Tower, the most famous monument in Paris!
To the second floor, or to the top? By the stairs or with the lift? You decide!
Did you know?
- Like many other things in the city, the Eiffel Tower was met with protests. The government was even presented with a petition against its construction!
- Created to be the main entrance of the 1889 World's fair, it was supposed to be a temporary exhibit - it was almost torn down in 1909 but in the end the Parisians luckily changed their mind.
- Gustave Eiffel, its creator, also helped to design the Statue of Liberty.
- At the top of the Eiffel Tower, the Champagne Bar gives you the chance to enjoy a glass of champagne while taking in incredible views of Paris, seen from an altitude of 276m - over 900ft!
