Things to do on a rainy days in paris
It's not always sunny in Paris, but that doesn't matter! There are still so many wonderful things to see and do on a rainy days in Paris.
1. Visit the museums
There are plenty of Museums in Paris, the main ones and some less well known. Here are our favorite choices for a rainy day in Paris:
- The Louvre: the most well known museum that will take you many days to explore entirely.
- The Quai d’Orsay: time to take a picture with that famous clock!
- Louis Vuitton fondation: always a great exhibition here – and an incredible building!
- The fairground museum: this one is so cool if you want to spend a fun moment with your friends
You can also go to other museums like: Quai Branly, Museum of Romantic life, Rodin Museum, Picasso Museum, Pompidou Center, Palais de la Découverte…and so many more!
2. Shop in Paris
Paris is the Fashion capital of the World, and there are many places to go shopping! We’ve put together a guide to help you find your perfect place to go shopping. The next suggestion on our list would be perfect after a long day of shopping!
3. Enjoy tea time the parisian way
There are many tea rooms in Paris. Laduree is a must-do if you want to have a Macaron experience! If you want a local place, I suggest you go to Carette! For an even more Parisian experience, The Ritz and The Meurice are also good choices!
4. Drink wine and people watch at a Parisian Cafe
Probably our favorite choice on a rainy day in Paris. Good wine, good friends, and a good time. Here are our menu suggestions: in the morning, ask for a French breakfast with croissants, baguette and salted butter, and a café allongé (our americano coffee)! The rest of the day, ask for a cheese and cured meats plate (une planche mixte) with some white wine (Chardonnay or Vionnier is perfect)!
5. Learn French Cuisine with a Chef
There are plenty of cooking classes in Paris: French pastries, baguettes and croissants, macarons, Bourguignon beef… It is probably one of the best experiences to have in Paris!
6. Wander around the covered passages
There are many passages in Paris that allow you to go through Paris with a roof over your head. You’ll admire great architecture, discover many little shops and enjoy a 19th century atmosphere!
7. Get lost in the Catacombs of Paris
You may have heard about the catacombs, which is a one-of-a-kind, super cool attraction and teaches you a lot about Paris’ history. Please don’t go to the illegal ones though, as you may get lost inside!
8. Visit the Louvre Cellar
This experience is unique in Paris! Discover and learn about the French wine in an authentic wine cellar close to the Louvre! You’ll enjoy a tasting and can also create your own wine as a unique souvenir of Paris!
9. Discover the Opera Garnier & The Sainte Chapelle
The Opera Garnier & The Sainte Chapelle (Holy Chapel) are in my opinion the 2 best monuments to visit on a rainy day, full of gold details and beautiful stained glass windows.
10. Watch Amélie Poulain's movie
If you have done everything, we suggest you watch a good movie made in Paris! Amelie Poulain is a classic, but you can also watch Midnight in Paris! Enjoy!
