Auteuil Greenhouses

Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, I found the perfect place to recharge, relax, dream or spend time with friends and family, a tropical secret paradise hidden in the heart of Paris: Auteuil Greenhouses.
Even most Parisians don’t know about this place!

How to get there ?

Take the subway to Porte d’Auteuil (line 10), then exit 1.
On your right side, you will see a public garden entrance to enter.
Once inside, just follow the path until you find the beautiful Auteuil Greenhouses !

The auteuil greenhouses were built in 1761, thanks to Louis the XVth who was an horticulture, plants & trees enthusiast.
They were designed in the time when winter gardens were the latest fashion and have a typical architecture from the end of the XIXth century. They are the jewel of the garden, thanks to their blue, green and turquoise tones.

Inside the greenhouses

Open the doors and stroll around, you’ll find an amazing collection of trees, cactus and plants from all over the world.
There are more than 6 000 plants sorted together by theme (succulents, from New Caledonia…) or types (palm trees, ferns…).
Undoubtedly, the masterpiece of the garden is the palmarium. A true jungle that invites you to dream and to travel, thanks to the tropical heat that reigns there, the brightly colored birds, the giant palm trees, the koi carps… A special atmosphere from a far far away land.
Sometimes, you’ll meet art students refining their drawing skills, readers looking for quietness, photoshoots for new brands, or simply plant lovers.

Modern greenhouses

Modern greenhouses were created around the new Simonne Mathieu tennis court of Roland Garros. You can visit them since June 2019, and if you’re lucky enough, you may even see famous tennis players training!
