Notre Dame de Paris
The Cathedral Notre Dame de Paris, is one of the must see monuments in the City of Lights.
Even if you can’t go inside the Cathedral anymore (thanks to the terrible fire which happened in April 2019), come to this part of the city to say hello to Quasimodo!
It still is worth it !
Did you know?
- It took 200 years to build Notre Dame
- All roads in France lead to Notre Dame de Paris. Find the compass on the ground in the front court of the cathedral. It's called point zero from were all the road distances are calculated.
- 28 statues of biblical kings in the cathedral were decapited during the french revolution
- Victor Hugo saved the Cathedral from demolition by writing "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"
- The gargoyles were added by Viollet-Le-Duc during the restoration of the Cathedral in the 19th century (also inspired by Victor Hugo's book)
- One of the bronze statues on the top of the cathedral represented Viollet-Le-Duc himself admiring his chef

Notre Dame access is forbidden since the fire which happened in April 2019, that destroyed the framing.
